When the Shower Pressure Dies at 6 PM
The classic villa complaint: pressure was fine all afternoon, then everyone comes back from the beach, three showers run at once and the water slows to a dribble. Nine times out of ten the cause is scale. Bali well water carries a heavy mineral load, and over two or three years it narrows mixer cartridges, blocks tap aerators and coats heater elements until both flow and temperature collapse. We descale or replace the choked components, and where the villa runs on a booster pump we check that the pressure switch and tank bladder are doing their job instead of short-cycling the pump to an early death.
Brown Water and Rusty Pipes After the Rains
If your taps run brown for a few seconds every morning in the wet season, the usual suspects are corroding galvanised pipe in older builds and sediment stirred up in the rooftop tank. The rainy season raises the water table, wells pull in more silt, and the tank quietly collects it. Left alone, this stains laundry, shortens water heater life and eventually pinholes steel pipe from the inside. A tank clean plus replacement of the worst pipe runs in PPR or PVC normally ends the problem for good.
Septic Tanks and Solar Heaters — the Quiet Failures
Two systems nobody thinks about until they act up. A septic tank that drains slowly, gurgles or smells after heavy rain is telling you it is full or its soakaway is saturated — we inspect, arrange pump-out and repair collapsed inlet pipes before sewage finds its own way out. Solar water heaters fail the opposite way: they keep "working" but only ever deliver lukewarm water, usually because scale has blanketed the collector tubes or the electric backup element has burned out. Both problems are cheap to fix early and expensive to ignore.
